Care & Support Volunteers provide direct, hands-on assistance with those living with Alzheimer's and related dementia, caregivers, and the general public.

Do you enjoy working one on one helping people? Are you interested in assisting people, understand what they need and where to find those resources and support or simply being a listening ear?
Helpline Specialist volunteers support individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by listening and connecting them with information and area resources and support. Working out of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Charlotte Office through outbound phone calls, Helpline Specialists assess individuals' needs and provide information and referrals. We are looking for customer service oriented and compassionate individuals to join our team of committed and dedicated volunteers serving individuals and families across our 49 county region of the Alzheimer’s Association - Western Carolina Chapter.

Data Entry - Proficiency in Google apps, Microsoft Office, including navigating through and sending out electronic resources to constituents
People Skills - Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Patient Care/ Critical Thinking - Experience with people in the field of aging or dementia, personally or professionally
Customer Service - Good telephone etiquette, including use of basic empathetic listening and affirmation techniques

Online Training/Background Check (our expense)

Training 8 hours, weekly or bi-weekly schedule (4 hours), 1 year commitment

Only in the Charlotte, NC office - M-F, 9 am-4 pm
