Care & Support Volunteers provide direct, hands-on assistance with those living with Alzheimer's and related dementia, caregivers, and the general public.

Are you fueled by the desire to raise awareness and understanding of Alzheimer's and related dementia diseases to make a difference in our communities? Then you are an Alzheimer's Association Community Educator!
Alzheimer's Association Community Educators are volunteer representatives of the Alzheimer's Association who cultivate opportunities and then deliver Association educational programs. Educators work in their professional, civic, and personal spaces to raise awareness of Alzheimer's and provide education and information to constituents. Educators are empowered to identify gaps, areas of need, and areas of interest and fill those through education.
Required Experience
Public Speaking - passionate about the mission, demonstrated speaking successTechnology - comfort with computers and familiarity with email and PPT presentations
General Education - Understanding of adult learning principles
People Skills - Ability to network, and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners
Disease Experience -as a family member or health care professional preferred.
Training (online)/Background check (our expense)
3 hr training,1 hr. shadowing, presentations/ yearly commitment
