Join the MUSC Elder Abuse Training and Treatment Program and the MUSC Center on Aging as we co-host "Turning Awareness into Action: A Public Panel on Aging Issues" on Wednesday, June 6th from 12-1:15pm.
Panel speakers include Ron Acierno, PhD, an older adult victim crime researcher & Dean of Research in the College of Nursing, Dr. Mark Newbrough, Head of Geriatrics, Mary Catherine Dubois, End of Life Social Worker, and Sally Smith, a local author of a book titled “The Circle†about her mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease that proceeds the Center on Aging. This panel aims to honor World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (officially June 15th) by bringing various perspectives to the unique challenges of aging that can prevent and address elder abuse.
This event will be held at the MUSC Bioengineering Building, Room 110, 68 President Street, Charleston, SC.
