Hearing Health Presentation
“Hearing Loss or Just Wax?”
Michael Beasley, Audioprosthologist and Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, will be presenting an educational tutorial on the hearing mechanism. Michael will explain causes of hearing loss, what can be done to correct different types of hearing loss, and he will address common myths regarding hearing aids. All attendees will also have the opportunity to look inside your own ears via Video-Otoscopy to see if ear wax could be causing any problems. He will also answer any questions regarding hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hearing aids. We look forward to seeing you then!
We will also have Casi Sims, Equipment and Outreach Coordinator, Telecommunications Dept. joining us with Amplify! life. The South Carolina Distribution Program (SCEDP) provides telephone equipment for hearing and/or speech impaired individuals. This equipment is provided at no cost for qualifying South Carolina residents.
