Caring Well for Those With Dementia and Other Cognitive Changes
September is World Alzheimer’s Month — a time to focus on supporting the 50 million people worldwide known to have a form of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease, the most prevalent. Right at Home offers specialized home care services to assist those living with dementia and other cognitive changes. To provide more extensive support to dementia clients and their families, Right at Home collaborated with leading dementia expert Jackie Pool to create a proprietary Cognitive Support Program.
The innovative Cognitive Support Program has three key components:
• Focusing on abilities
• Teaming with families
• Providing person-centered care
Join us Sept. 20 at 1:00 pm for a Right at Home-sponsored webinar, “Person-Centered Care for Someone With Dementia,†hosted by the American Society on Aging. The webinar will feature Debbie Friedman, Right at Home’s Director of Organizational Learning, who will discuss elements that are important to keep in mind when working with individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia or cognitive decline. A free CEU credit is available for nurses, counselors, therapists and social workers. Registration information is available via this link: http://www.asaging.org/web-seminars/person-centered-care-someone-dementia.
