As part of our 45th Annual Meeting & Conference activities, we will offer a free training on trends in the field of Gerontology.Dr. Cynthia Hancock of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, will discuss how the field of Gerontology has evolved from the study of the problems of old men to the study of longevity and the life course. Gerontologists today recognize the diversity of the aging experience and seek to understand the beliefs, practices, experiences, and policies that can enhance the lives of older adults and their social networks.Dr. Hancock will take participants through the development of the field and explore possible future directions for research and practice in this area.
