The Alzheimer’s Association’s program, Effective Communication Strategies, was designed to provide practical information and resources to help dementia caregivers learn to decode verbal and behavioral messages from people with dementia.
Program participants will learn how to:
• Explain the communication changes that take place in each stage of the disease,
• Decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia and respond in ways that are helpful to the person, and
• Identify strategies to help caregivers connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
The program is scheduled to run approximately 1 hour including Q&A.
Class Credit Information
A Certificate of Completion is available to any participant wishing to receive one.
